SUPERVISED CLINICAL PRACTICE EXPERIENCE: PEDIATRICS

This 4-week supervised clinical practice experience provides the student with practical experience in the care of pediatric patients. Under the supervision of a clinical preceptor, the student will apply knowledge gained in the didactic phase to actual care of patients as a member of the interdisciplinary health care team. The emphasis of this experience will be on the coordination and collaboration of pediatric care in the inpatient and/or outpatient settings. Students will become proficient in the diagnosis, treatment and management of the pediatric medicine patient while taking into consideration the additional concerns the patient's family members and caregivers.
