INFORMATICS AND HEALTHCARE TECHNOLOGIES

Catalog description

This course prepares the student to utilize informatics and healthcare technologies in the management of individuals, groups and organizations for the improvement of patient outcomes. An examination of important informatics tools that are currently being utilized in healthcare to assure safe and quality care will be completed. Electronic Health Records (EHR), Telehealth, evidence-based practice (EBP) will be emphasized. Development of computer skills for healthcare applications in patient care, personnel and unit management systems will be an additional focus.
