SCHOOL HEALTH EDUCATION PRACTICUM

Catalog description

This University-supervised practicum provides the student with opportunities to apply the knowledge gained in NURS 5503 , including curriculum development and methods of teaching health in the Pre K-12th grade setting. Required for School Nurse Certification Program. Successful completion of all required prerequisites and courses for the School Nurse Certification. Non-Instructional Endorsement track, formal declaration of the School Nurse Certification-Instructional Endorsement track, current CPR/AED certification, current individual malpractice insurance & clinical clearance (including flu vaccination). Students must apply for clinical placement at least 4 weeks prior to course registration. Course includes a total of 90 hours of clinical practice.
