Catalog description
This arranging course is designed to strengthen the basics of small ensemble arranging, which includes developing skills for creating clear lead-sheets, writing counterpoint, creating contrafacts (melodies written to pre-existing chord progressions), chord reharmonizations/substitutions, and 2-5 voice arranging concepts. This course will also examine and identify key elements that apply to arranging for different genres of commercial music (i.e., films, jingles, television, recordings).
