Catalog description

This course provides an overview of the ESG framework by focusing on topics such as (1) what the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) umbrella encompasses, (2) why there is an increasing momentum around ESG, (3) why corporations are expected to address their impact in environmental and social aspects of their businesses, and (4) how governance plays into these efforts. This course is intended to introduce business, management, finance, and marketing students to fundamentals and historical perspectives of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) topics. Students will review the key elements of an ESG system through case studies and practical exercises. Challenges associated with the implementation of the ESG-guided framework will also be discussed.
