Screenwriting

Catalog description

This course introduces the fundamentals of writing for film. Students experience the same creative process as a professional screenwriter, moving from the initial concept, to completing a 30-page screenplay for a half-hour film. Plot structure, character development and economical dialogue is emphasized. Scenes and sequences from well-known films are analyzed in class. (Note: Students who have successfully completed this course may elect to continue their work in an independent study under supervision of the instructor.) (Previously NJCU Course MEDI-331)
