SCIENTIFIC PROGRAMMING LAB: VECTORS, SYSTEMS, AND MULTIDIMENSIONAL THINKING
Kean University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
This follow-up laboratory course in scientific computing builds upon foundational programming and numerical methods. Focusing on vectors, systems, and multidimensional thinking, the course equips students with computational tools to analyze systems of equations, interpret vector-based models, and explore dynamic behaviors across multiple dimensions. Students will gain hands-on experience applying numerical methods using modern scripting languages to problems in physics, engineering, and applied sciences. Laboratory activities include solving linear systems using direct and iterative methods, analyzing stability in dynamical systems through eigenvalue-based techniques, and visualizing multidimensional data and transformations. Students will develop practical skills for modeling with vectors and matrices, interpreting the geometry of linear operations, and solving real-world problems through computational approaches.
