Course introduces a full range of interior design and architectural ideas and issues through drawing exercises, analyses of precedents, and explored design methods. Students will develop design skills by conceptualizing and representing interior design and architectural ideas and making aesthetic judgements about building design. Discussions regarding interior design and architecture's role in mediating culture, nature, and technology will help develop the students' architectural vocabulary. The travel Learning Module is the process of incorporating students knowledge with the experiences of visiting a foreign county to study interior architecture and building structures. This course is a field experience allowing the student to apply knowledge of art, design and architecture through freehand drawing as a communication tool. Students are expected to integrate their field experiences with assigned activities as directed by the instructor. Students will spend approximately one week in a foreign county examining various components of the built environment through increased visual literacy. Course focuses on the use of freehand drawing as a tool using media such as; pencil, ink, watercolor, and markers. Courseemphasis is on sketching interior architectural spaces, architectural buildings, and interior details asa viewed in the built environment.
