Catalog description
An in-depth analysis into topics related to the Black experience. Lectures and seminars on special topics with a focus on Africana themes and issues. Students will critically engage with issues such as the African Diaspora, Black resistance movements, cultural production, and intersectionality within Africana Studies. Topics vary by instructor and may include African and African-American histories, Black feminist thought, Pan-Africanism, and contemporary socio-political challenges. Students may repeat the course for up to 6 credit hours if topics differ. Notes: Course can be repeated for credit (same section and title only for grade-recalculation, different section and title for additional credits); Course can be cross-listed.
