Twentieth century France traced from the aftermath of the Dreyfus Affair to the present. The struggles of a declining European "great power" to preserve its historical role, cultural "mission," and national identity amidst the catastrophic transformations of the twentieth century, the decline of imperial Europe and the restructuring of the world into ideological spheres controlled by superpowers. 6 hours of History.
