Catalog description

The course will examine the historical development of the Dominican Republic and its neighbor Haiti from the Pre-Columbian era to the 21st century; focus will be on the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Emphasis will be placed on European colonialism, slavery, United States' intervention and the rise of dictatorship. (Previously NJCU Course HIST-331)
