ADVANCED RESEARCH METHODS IN GENETIC COUNSELING

Catalog description

This course is the second in the research methods sequence. Focus is placed on development of the actual Master of Science thesis. American Psychological Association style of data reporting and manuscript writing is detailed. Additional topics include research question development, study population and methodology choice, and survey and consent form construction. Students will complete an initial literature review for the proposed investigation and submit the Institutional Review Board (IRB) application. Communication of results via conference oral and poster presentations and written publications discussed. Grant writing to be reviewed.
