Catalog description

This course will introduce genetic counseling graduate students to the principles of clinical human cytogenetics including structure and function of chromosomes, chromosomal abnormalities and their clinical presentations, and cytogenetic laboratory techniques. Topics include aneuploidy, reciprocal and Robertsonian translocations, inversions, rings, markers, complex chromosome rearrangements, deletions and duplications, uniparental disomy and imprinting.
