Catalog description

This course introduces the core components of Islam: texts, beliefs, rituals, and law (Fiqh). Furthermore, this course will explore Islam in the middle ages and its civilization. It will also discuss the present relations between Islam and the West, especially the challenges faced by Muslims and how the West sees Islam. We will ask ourselves how to negotiate an identity that does not exclude anyone. (Previously NJCU Course LANG-275)
