CLINICAL PRACTICE IN GRADUATE ART EDUCATION 1: ELEMENTARY

Supervised field experience for graduate students. Emphasis is on lesson planning, curriculum content, and basic teaching strategies in K-5 classrooms. Students spend one full day per week for one semester in an elementary school setting, observing, teaching, engaging in school activities, and exploring the potential of the elementary classroom as a setting of research. Setting is inclusive of formative and special needs learners, and requires 100 hours of fieldwork. Taken in spring semester prior to final year of study.
