TEACHING MATHEMATICS IN EARLY ELEMENTARY GRADES

Catalog description

This course focuses on developing pedagogical content knowledge for teaching and assessing mathematics in grades 1-3. Includes: Cognitively guided mathematic instruction; assessment of, and remediation for difficulties in mathematics; teaching conceptual and procedural knowledge of mathematics and the integration of literacy skills in mathematics. New Jersey Student Learning Standards- Mathematics (NJSLS-M, 2023) are emphasized.
