TEACHING LITERACY IN PRE-K AND KINDERGARTEN

Catalog description

This course focuses on developing the pedagogical content knowledge for teaching literacy and foundational reading skills, including, but not limited to, phonics, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, reading comprehension, fluency, and concepts of print; to preschool and kindergarten students. New Jersey Student Learning Standards are embedded in this course. Multicultural and multilingual literature for young children is also addressed.
