WRITING SEMINAR: PUBLICATION AND DISSERTATION PROPOSAL

Catalog description

This doctoral-level course prepares counselor education students to conduct, write, and publish scholarly research that advances the counseling profession. Students will develop competencies in academic writing, manuscript preparation, peer-reviewed publishing, navigating the editorial process, and learn the professional counseling journals. Additionally, students will be introduced to the dissertation process, including the dissertation proposal writing and proposal defending presentation. Through hands-on experience with a research project, students will prepare manuscripts for journal submission while addressing ethical considerations, APA formatting, and professional communication with editors and reviewers.
