Catalog description

This course provides an overview of trauma-informed counseling and the triphasic model for trauma recovery with an emphasis on the etiology of trauma, posttraumatic stress disorder, and the neurobiological impact on the brain and body. Trauma sequelae are examined in a range of individual and mass trauma events including sexual abuse, intimate partner violence, mass violence, natural disasters, and combat stress.
