Catalog description

Molecular biology of genetic inheritance and molecular evolutionary genetics, with an emphasis on recent discoveries and advances. Topics include DNA and chromatin structure and function, regulation of gene expression and related processes, mutation, gene duplication, patterns of genetic divergence and genealogical reconstruction. Credits will not be given for both BIO 4704 and BIO 4700 Molecular Genetics and only one of these two courses should be taken.
