ARCHITECTURE RESEARCH/MENTORSHIP/INTERNSHIP PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Catalog description
Students can gain work experience and training outside the classroom setting, either in an architecture or related office, or through an architectural mentorship, or within a faculty research initiative, under the dual supervision of an instructor and appropriate personnel at an internship site, allowing students to integrate classroom learning with work-related experiences to help prepare them for careers. Students must have documented evidence of a minimum of 60 hours on-site time in the research/ mentorship/internship. Students must meet with and gain approval from their architecture advisor prior to registering for this course, with a research/mentorship/internship opportunity identified, and with the course instructor, obtain research/mentorship/internship sponsor commitment. research/mentorship/internships are negotiated between the academic program and the supervisor within the host organization; activities may include observations, meetings, administration, research, strategic planning, product development, data analysis, report writing, etc.
