Introduces psychopathology, DSM diagnostics, strengths perspective, bio-psycho-social assessments, and psychotropic medications. Explores the responsibilities of psychiatric mental health technicians. Explores therapeutic treatment interventions for persons with mental disorders, particularly those receiving treatment in an inpatient setting, and how to create individualized strategies for patients. Lecture: 3 credits (45 contact hours).
