Catalog description

The Trauma Surgery elective/Sub-I provides medical students with a comprehensive understanding of the management and surgical treatment of traumatic injuries. This rotation emphasizes the acute care of trauma patients, the principles of trauma resuscitation, and the surgical interventions required for various types of injuries. Students will engage in direct patient care, participate in trauma team activations, and observe surgical procedures. Through hands-on experiences, case discussions, and interdisciplinary collaboration, students will develop the skills necessary to effectively manage trauma patients in a surgical setting.
