Catalog description

The Surgery Subspecialty elective provides medical students with the opportunity to expand their knowledge regarding the treatment of the surgical patient. This rotation emphasizes advanced surgical techniques, patient management before and after surgery, E234and the interdisciplinary approach necessary for effective surgical care. Students will engage in direct patient care, observe surgical procedures, and participate in case discussions to enhance their understanding of surgical subspecialties. Through hands-on experiences and collaboration with surgical teams, students will develop the skills necessary to consider a surgical career.
