Catalog description

The Pediatric Surgery elective offers medical students a comprehensive understanding of the surgical management of conditions affecting infants, children, and adolescents. This rotation emphasizes the unique anatomical, physiological, and developmental considerations in pediatric surgery, including congenital anomalies, trauma, and surgical interventions for acquired conditions. Students will engage in direct patient care, participate in pre-operative and post-operative evaluations, and observe a variety of surgical procedures in a pediatric surgical setting. Through hands-on experiences, case discussions, and interdisciplinary collaboration, students will develop the skills necessary to provide effective surgical care to pediatric patients.
