Catalog description

The Pediatric Psychiatry elective provides medical students with a comprehensive understanding of the diagnosis and management of psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents. This rotation emphasizes the unique presentations of mental health conditions in the pediatric population, including anxiety disorders, depression, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Students will engage in direct patient care, participate in clinical evaluations, and observe therapeutic interventions in a pediatric psychiatry setting. Through hands-on experiences, case discussions, and interdisciplinary collaboration, students will develop the skills necessary to provide effective mental health care to pediatric patients.
