Catalog description

The Community Pediatrics/Inpatient elective provides medical students with a comprehensive exposure to the practice of pediatric medicine in both community and inpatient settings. This rotation focuses on the unique healthcare needs of children and adolescents, emphasizing the importance of preventative care, developmental health, and family-centered approaches. Students will engage with diverse patient populations, participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, and contribute to the management of acute and chronic pediatric conditions. The curriculum integrates community health resources, public health initiatives, and strategies for addressing social determinants of health as they relate to pediatric populations.
