Catalog description

The Adolescent Medicine Sub-I provides medical students with a focused exploration of the unique health care needs of adolescents. This rotation emphasizes the physical, emotional, and social development of young people, equipping students with the knowledge and skills to provide comprehensive care in various settings. Students will engage in clinical rotations that include preventive care, chronic illness management, and addressing mental health issues. Emphasizing a holistic approach, the curriculum will incorporate topics such as sexual and reproductive health, substance use, and the impact of social determinants on adolescent health. Through direct patient interactions, case discussions, and interdisciplinary collaboration, students will develop competencies necessary for effectively caring for this vulnerable population.
