Catalog description

Lifestyle Medicine II integrates biological, behavioral, psychosocial, and environmental determinants of health with evidence-based lifestyle strategies to support healthy living and the prevention and management of chronic disease. This course explores sleep hygiene and restorative sleep, risky substance use and behavioral health, nutritional interventions to promote glycemic regulation and recognize the importance of the gut microbiome to systemic function, and the effects of regular exercise upon mental health, cognitive function, and metabolic health. The impact of environmental hazards on health and disease is also examined.
