Catalog description

The Street Medicine elective offers medical students a unique opportunity to understand and address the healthcare needs of individuals experiencing homelessness and other marginalized populations. This rotation emphasizes the principles of outreach, patient-centered care, and the social determinants of health that impact these communities. Students will engage in direct patient care, participate in outreach efforts, and observe interdisciplinary collaboration in community settings. Through hands-on experiences, case discussions, and advocacy work, students will develop the skills necessary to provide compassionate and effective care in street medicine.
