Catalog description
This course is a focused, multidisciplinary course covering fundamental biochemical, cellular, and molecular mechanisms of normal human body function to build a foundation for understanding disease processes and clinical applications. Students will explore key metabolic pathways, cellular respiration and bioenergetics, and the central dogma of molecular biology. Additional topics include cellular processes (membrane function, signaling, cell cycle regulation and cancer biology, protein processing), genetics (principles of inheritance, genomic regulation), metabolic disorders, and introductory immunology, microbiology, and histology.
