Catalog description

The third in a series of three courses designed to guide the development of problem-solving skills in the medical decision-making process. This course uses a body systems approach to thoroughly study diseases/disorders encountered in primary care practice. Medical knowledge includes the epidemiology, etiology, pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, management and patient education of diseases/disorders. Instruction includes providing care to preventive, emergent, acute, chronic, adolescent, adult, and elderly populations as it applies to disease processes. Instruction will consist of lectures, problem/case-based learning, and small group collaboration.
