Catalog description

Introduction to nuclear reactor systems with a focus on the design, operation, and safety of Generation II reactors, including pressurized water reactors (PWRs) and boiling water reactors (BWRs). Core topics include reactor design, nuclear steam supply systems, instrumentation and control, and safety systems for accident mitigation. The course also provides a foundational overview of advanced reactor technologies, including Generation III/III+, Generation IV reactors, small modular reactors (SMRs), and microreactors.
