String Orchestra Pedagogy

Catalog description

This course is designed to prepare undergraduate students to be successful string educators. Students in this course will discuss and demonstrate knowledge of key topics including advanced string teaching strategies for both right and left-hand skills, string orchestra lesson plan design, program curricular development, recruitment and retention of students, the merging of supplemental pedagogical materials within the lesson plan, alternative performance styles, and administrative tasks specific to string teaching.
