Catalog description

Develop listening skills and an understanding of the meaning of music from around the world. Students will discover how music can be used as a form of human expression, and also reflect the culture in which it was created. Due to the non-Western focus, cultural background and perspective will be provided for each population discussed including the influence of music within and upon societies and its members highlighting issues of human diversity outside the U.S.
