Catalog description

Studies the history of the military and warfare in the United States from 1775 to the present. Includes strategic, operational, political, and social developments to explain how warfare has shaped US society and culture, and how they, in turn, shaped the US military. Topics include the history and development of the armed forces, the operational history of US wars, the place of the military in US society and culture, the influence of technological changes on warfare, and the role of women and people of color in the armed forces over time.
