Examines various federal and state policies designed specifically for youth including (a) defining and identifying current youth policies; (b) examining policies designed to ""protect the well-being"" of youth (e.g., zero tolerance, restorative justice, juvenile justice and reform); and (c) examining targeted youth policies (e.g., foster care, policies for youth with disabilities, homeless youth).This course examines various federal and state policies designed specifically for youth. This course will be divided into three sections: (a) what is policy and what youth policies exist? (b) policies specifically designed for to ""protect the well-being"" of youth (e.g., zero tolerance, restorative justice, juvenile justice and reform), and (c) targeted youth policies (e.g., foster care, policies for youth with disabilities, homeless youth).
