College Students with Disabilities

Catalog description

This course is designed to familiarize higher education personnel with the increasing number of students with disabilities who now attend our institutions of higher education. The course will examine the legal foundations for students with disabilities in higher education, provide a framework for understanding the unique needs of students with learning disabilities, attention deficit disorders, mental health issues, as well as those on the autism spectrum, and examine the role of higher education personnel in helping these individuals be successful thriving college students.
