Catalog description

This colloquium advances the interrelationships between the naturally occurring chemical elements and Earth Systems Science. Current scientific research in the field of geochemistry is applied to methods and content specific pedagogies to deepen sophistication of reasoning of chemistry concepts in secondary science instruction. The candidate will design, implement, assess, and evaluate a three-dimensional learning experience to address secondary chemistry misconceptions and promote reasoning of elemental properties and behaviors in the natural world. Authentic experiences comprise on-campus seminars, discussions, and a final presentation.
