Development of content area literacies across disciplines to ensure meaningful access and achievement for all learners. Grounded in the science of reading and current literacy research, examine how language, reading, writing, and knowledge-building intersect within subject-specific contexts. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based instructional practices, including structured literacy and sheltered instruction, to strengthen disciplinary literacy and academic language development.
