This course provides an overview of current issues regarding the assessment of CLD students within classroom practice. Examines pre-instructional student assessment; the acculturation process and asset discovery; issues of language proficiency beyond the measurements; focus on pre-assessment, formative, and summative assessment; using interactive grouping configurations and learning strategies as an integral part of the assessment process; assessments for students in special education settings.
