Catalog description

This course examines the rationale behind the skills and techniques taught in DMP 690 Essential Practices for High Containment Research Settings.  Students will gain familiarity with the regulatory and operational requirements of high containment facilities and discuss best practices in the laboratory. Students review and discuss scientific readings, case studies, topics, and laboratory techniques appropriate for laboratory work conducted in BSL-3, Animal BSL-3 (ABSL-3), and Large Animal BSL-3 (BSL-3Ag) facilities. This course is designed to complement DMP 690 Essential Practices for High Containment Research Settings.
