Application of finite element method to multi-physics and pressure sensitive materials (soils, rocks, concrete and asphalt); formulation of 1D element; overview of elasticity (isotropic and anisotropic); theory of plasticity (Drucker-Prager and Cam Clay models); finite element application to stresses in the soil, shear strength, consolidation, shallow and deep foundations, retaining walls, mechanically stabilized earth and groundwater seepage.
