Covers FAA and international certification standards and regulating bodies as well as relevant performance standards to include role of FAA Advisory Circulars, DO 160, 178, and 254, SAE, ASTM, and other industry standards in the certification process. Presents the continuing airworthiness process, including the issuance of airworthiness directives, and the relationship of manufacturer service bulletins, and service letters. Brief discussion on type validation process. Discuss the importance of developing processes to manage all of the data associated with the certification process.
