Catalog description

An introduction to the art of Mesoamerica (central and southern Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, and parts of Honduras and El Salvador) from the early formative/preclassic period through the postclassic period. Principal cultures include the Olmec, the formative-period peoples of the basin of Mexico and Michoacán, the shaft-tomb cultures of West Mexico, Teotihuacán, the Maya, the Zapotec, the Mixtec, and the Aztec.
