Catalog description

Advanced study of reciprocating aircraft powerplant systems with emphasis on inspection, maintenance, and overhaul procedures. Topics include cylinder assemblies, crankcase components, valve trains, fuel and induction systems, ignition systems, lubrication systems, cooling systems, exhaust systems, and engine installation. Students perform disassembly, dimensional inspection, reassembly, operational testing, and diagnostic evaluation of reciprocating engine systems in accordance with approved maintenance data and industry standards.
