Catalog description

Introductory study of aircraft powerplant theory and operation with emphasis on reciprocating and gas turbine engine fundamentals. Topics include thermodynamic principles, engine operating cycles, and performance calculations. The course also includes propeller aerodynamics, constant-speed and controllable-pitch operation, propeller inspection, removal and installation procedures, governor adjustment, and operational checks. Emphasis is placed on foundational powerplant knowledge, performance interpretation, and approved maintenance practices.
