A comprehensive study of aircraft environmental control and fire protection systems for both airframe and propulsion installations. Emphasizes system design, operation, inspection, servicing, and troubleshooting of pressurization, heating and cooling, supplemental oxygen, ice and rain control, fire detection and extinguishing, and waste and water systems. Students apply manufacturer technical data and FAA standards to evaluate system performance, determine serviceability, and perform maintenance procedures in accordance with Aviation Mechanic Airman Certification Standards.
