Catalog description

An introduction to the role and organizational structure of the Federal Aviation Administration and its responsibilities in aircraft certification and continued airworthiness. Emphasizes the privileges and limitations of certificated maintenance personnel and the application of Federal Aviation Regulations in aviation maintenance activities. Topics include basic weight and balance principles, maintenance record entries, interpretation of graphs and charts, and the use of FAA and manufacturer maintenance publications such as specifications, data sheets, manuals, Airworthiness Directives, and Advisory material. Students develop the ability to read, interpret, and apply aircraft drawings and technical documentation commonly used in aviation maintenance.
