Static force equilibrium, free-body force analysis, friction, structural force analysis, centroids and center of gravity, area moment of inertia, concepts of stress and strain. Strength of materials. Axial, torsional, bending and combined stress and strain analysis. Considerations of stress concentration, fatigue, and impact conditions. Applied fluid mechanics, mass conservation and energy conservation equations.
